Final Project- The End of This Text

The End of This Chapter

Producing these videos was fun and challenging. It was hard to find the courage to record myself because I was worried about the videos not turning out how I wanted or it turning out anti-climatic. I found myself re-recording things multiple times because I did like the video. Which is part of the reason why I didn't produce as many videos as I wanted. The other reason was I was too swamped with actually finishing the artwork, working my job, and finishing my education certificate. However, once I changed my mind set to make videos I want future me to see vs. videos I think the audience would like, I found myself more authentic in my videos. Which ironically, got more views than they videos I created specifically to please the audience. I also intended this video project to end with the end of my senior show, but I really enjoyed recording myself making art and finding characteristics of my creative process. I think I am going to continue recording my in-progress work so I can share it with the world and see how I grow as an artist. Also though these are videos, they can be seen as text that is interpreted to the audience because they have the freedom to guess what the next video will be, or my future self can go and re-read this text over and over. The project has become a digital book of myself as an artist, and although this chapter is ending, I will continue to write for the sake of creating.

  1. What a cool way to get to document such a crazy journey with all those ups and downs. I really don't think you'll ever regret taking the time to make a cool video journal like this.

  2. I love how you talk about how your "future self can go and re-read this text over and over" again - how this project has almost become a text-like documentation of your artistic life. Will this be a text that you will only re-read or will you rewrite it too?

  3. I love love LOVE that you made videos of your process. Always keep creating! but as someone who looks up to you and your work, I also love that as a viewer (and lover of your art) that I can revisit this documentation too and see how your process is (as of now), and watch it grow further!!!
