  Instagram: @ shelby.making.art The fear of the audience     "The amateur, a role defines much more by a style than by a technical imperfection, is no longer anywhere to be found; the professionals, pure specialists whose training remains entirely esoteric for the public" (Barthes, p. 150). For my project, the private component is me recording and editing these videos. I am the sole creator of this mini project and get to decide what I record and how I present it to my small audience. Unlike professionals (aka big creatures), I do not have a team to help me think, produce, and create these videos. The public component of my project is posting the videos and getting feedback in the form of comments from the audience. So far I have only received positive remarks from the viewers. However, I have noticed I have gained this fear of the audience. I have noticed I am not critical of what I am recording and I'm worried I will bore the audience or not give them what they want. L...
